SoLa Impact operates at the intersection of real estate, economic mobility, and community transformation. To scale its influence, the fund needed to be recognized not only for its investment performance, but for its culturally grounded approach to affordable housing, opportunity creation, and community partnership—particularly in South Los Angeles.

Going Public PR designed an experiential PR strategy that aligned SoLa Impact with culture through intentional partnerships, community-centered initiatives, and purpose-driven visibility.
We positioned SoLa as more than a real estate fund—elevating its role as a community anchor and economic catalyst. Our work focused on brokering meaningful relationships with civic, business, philanthropic, and community leaders, ensuring SoLa’s initiatives were embedded in trusted networks rather than broadcast from the outside.
During COVID, this approach came to life through the launch of SoLa’s COVID-19 Retraining and Recovery (CORE) Fund—a culturally responsive initiative designed to help South LA residents displaced from work transition into careers in tech and healthcare. We aligned experiential outreach, grassroots engagement, and earned media to amplify CORE’s purpose and participation.
IMPACT & OUTCOMES
Going Public PR was integral in helping SoLa doubling their bottom-line fund and elevating their national positioning through the brokering of a strategic partnership with The Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation, by integrating the organization into a flagship COVID-response initiative focused on economic recovery in South Los Angeles. Through sustained executive positioning and stakeholder engagement, SoLa achieved industry-wide recognition, earning top honors for leadership in Opportunity Zone development and national distinction for its innovative impact model receiving the Grand Prize (Urban) award by Forbes Magazine & Sorenson Impact Center as the nation's leading Opportunity Zone fund.
